Well, today was a tiring day! We did get to sleep in a little, since we practiced the music for this weekend quite a bit in the past few days. The sleeping in was needed for Kid's Club today!
A quick refreshment on Kid's Club attendance: On Monday, we had 11 kids; on Tuesday, we had 24; Wednesday, we had 28; and today...we had 36 children!!! What a handful they were! But PTL that those kids who had come every day, invited more and more of their friends!!! If we could have made a difference in the children's lives, imagine what they could do for others! Crafts today had a message in itself. We had the kids make Salvation Bracelets. I must say that we went out with a bang today, and I know that we will miss those little munchkins, and vise versa. Pray that some of the children would begin to start a relationship with God. I noticed one girl named Rebecca, who I think will have an awesome impact on people's lives with her already maturing attitude for Christ.
After we said our goodbyes to the kids, we went back to the McGrath house (place were we are staying) in Balbriggan to eat lunch. After lunch, Denny, Jim, Bruce, Dennis, Matt, and I headed to Ballymun to paint a flat that belongs to a brother in Christ. Linda, Ann, and Ruth went back to Drogheda work on the Ladies Retreat. When we got to John's flat, we did a quick walk through of the house to see what needed to be painted. Matt, Denny, and I took the sitting room, and it was painted burgundy and beige. Bruce and Dennis took the hallway and bathroom. The hallway is peach, and the bathroom is lavender. And Jim took one of the bedrooms, and it was painted light yellow. We had some help from John's mother-in-law, and another fellow believer named Damien. After three hours of work we got most of the work done, and it looked very nice.
Quick prayer request: A few years ago after John and Noleen got married, they tried to have children, but due to a tumor on one of Noleen's glands in her brain it was impossible for them to conceive. Neither of them at the time were believers, but Noleen's mom Tina started to go to Denny's Bible Study in Ballymun. They laid hands on Noleen at a healing service, praying that God would heal her and do a miracle in her life. Two weeks after she was prayed for, John and Noleen were pregnant! Nothing is impossible with Christ!!!! By then Tina was already a christian and John wanted to know more about this Jesus guy, but Noleen did not want anything to do with God. Now both Tina and John are on fire for God! Both of them did a complete 180 on their life. Noleen is "on the fence" whether or not she should have a relationship with Jesus Christ. Pray that Noleen would be pushed on the backyard of christianity, getting to know her in the three hours while we were there, she has a big heart. Her mother Tina is an amazing woman. Bruce and Dennis told her that they prayed for her to find the Lord three years ago, and all that she could was smile an extravagant smile of gratitude. We stayed a little while to visit, and have a cupa tea, and some biscuits.
After we left, we had time to stop at McDonald's and have a healthy supper...yeah right. We hurried home to get ready for the Bible study here at the McGrath's house. The Bible Study tonight consisted of the team; Denny and Linda; Burt who is from the US; Andrea who is from Germany; Ann who is from France; and Grace who is from New Zealand. I learned today that out of the 199 countries in the world, Ireland is home to people from 183 of those countries. We had a great time disscusing 1 Peter 4:1-11. it's kind of funny though, two nights ago I spoke from 1 Peter 4:12-19 and tonight Denny spoke from 1-11. God is doing amazing things over here, keep on praying for us and Noleen, she has a heart, but now she just needs God. Take care and God Bless!!! Love, Michael and the Ireland 2008 team
