A Day of Travel

Thursday July 12th

A DAY OF TRAVELS!!
Well our morning started out by meeting at Colonial Woods at 2:15am this morning to head down to the airport in Detroit.  We got there before anything opened so we were feeling pretty good.  The down side is no workers were there either.  We waited in line for about 45 minutes at the international counter.  We saw other coming in at the domestic desk by nobody for ours.  Finally somebody came and told us they don't open international flight counters this early in the morning and they do everything at domestic.  Oh the fun of traveling.  So we went and did our thing, Finally we get up to the front and find out one of our team members passports expire in Oct. and they said they might not be able to go because you have to have a valid passport for 90 days after arriving in a country.  Fortunately the man behind the desk was feeing very generous so another problem averted.  On our way through security another team member forgot to take out the bug spray can and sunscreen from their back pack which set off the alarms.  Not the biggest deal until you find out that after that happens they are require to take out every item and do a thorough check as well as do a pat down of the person.  OH yeah did I mention our flight is suppose to leave in a half hour!!!

Well we made it and after that things went fairly smoothly.  We got to meet the pastor here at La Fuente and heard the vision of the church and where they are going.  They also made us two really good meals.  One of my highlights was watching Mike eat all the spicy stuff and tonight at dinner it was so spicy he was literally drenched in sweat.

So everything is going well and are team is super excited to be here and minster however we can. Tomorrow we wake up at early and head to 2 different orphanages and then do VBS through out the evening.  Pray for us and look for Brad J. to update us tommorrow.
