Wow! I am amazed at how long it has been since I wrote on here. The summer has been flying by with Brown City Camp and vacations and getting ready for the fall ministry programs. I can't believe we are almost to the end of August. Yikes! The great thing is that in the midst of the crazy and the fast pace...God is so faithful and He has everything under control. I was reading a book by Joyce Meyer the other day and a story that she told really stuck with me. It has been running through my mind the last few days so I thought I would share it with you here. So here goes....
There was a little girl who was in the pool with her dad and he was holding her in the shallow end of the pool. Her dad started walking toward the deep end of the pool and as they got closer to the deep end the little girl was getting more nervous and anxious. Now the whole time her dad's feet were on the bottom of the pool and she was just as safe as she had always been, but the circumstances seemed scarier to her.
Here is the thing she didn't realize...she was always over her head in the pool...even in the shallow end...and her safety and well being were always in the hands of her dad. I take comfort in the message of this story....
I am over my head everyday and my life and my well being rest in the hands of my very capable Father in heaven. So when the circumstances seem scarier than normal, I need to remember that His feet are always on the bottom of the pool and in his arms I am as safe in the deep end as I am in the shallow end.
