Well it is almost Easter and it is almost time for me to take off for China. It should be interesting spending Easter in China instead of the US. I am going to be attending the international church in Beijing and it should be pretty cool to celebrate the resurrection of Christ with people from a number of differnt countries. We won't have much in common except for our relationship with Christ which is the biggest common denominator that we could have.
Hey, can I tell you something? Ok, thanks...I think that when we read the Bible we need to remember that the Bible people didn’t know the end of the story while it was happening? We have the luxury of knowing today how the whole story goes, but those disciples who watched their best friend suffer and then to have him die…well….they didn’t know how it would turn out. So how amazing it must have been for them on that day when Jesus appeared to them? What an overwhelming experience that must have been.
Let's be sure this Easter that we don't take it all for granted and treat the story as something we already have heard and know the ending to. Why don't you try this year to imagine what it would have been like as a disciple...how would it have felt to have your best friend, your mentor, your role model, who you thought was gone forever, walk through the door? And if you can imagine that...then maybe you can get a glimpse of what an amazing time it was for those who lived it. There was never any other day like it in history...ever!
Keep checking back during this coming week as I will do my best to entertain you with the stories, mishaps, adventures and life lessons of the China team.

Sweet you got a blog and your a nomad like me. Good luck in China. Be sure and say hi to Joe Jackson for me. I think he is a pastor at the chuch you are going to. He will stick out of the crowd because he is a very outgoing African American. God Bless your trip. Keep writing!
